Dr. Laura Soong is a dual board-certified Dermatologist in Canada and the United States. She is the Medical Director of Stratica Dermatology St. Albert, which serves a wide catchment area of both urban and rural patients. She also serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Alberta and participates in the On Call Dermatology service. Her clinical and research interests are in both medical and surgical dermatology, with special interest in inflammatory skin disorders, hidradenitis suppurativa and skin cancer.

Dr. Soong completed her undergraduate studies in science at the University of Northern British Columbia and subsequently pursued studies in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta before earning her medical degree. She went on to complete her Dermatology residency at the University of Alberta, where she served as Chief Resident. During her training, she published numerous peer-reviewed papers and received multiple awards, including the Canadian Dermatology Association Resident Teaching Award and the Isidore & Rebecca Hardin Prize in Dermatology. She also graduated as the top female academic student in her medical school class.
