Who Can Participate?
Adolescents (12 to 17 years of age) and adults 18+ with alopecia areata (AA) may be eligible to participate.

Inclusion Criteria

• Have been experiencing your current alopecia areata-related scalp hair loss for at least 6 months, but not longer than 10 years
• Have >20% to <50% hair loss of the scalp
• Do not have any other types of alopecia (including, but not limited to, traction or scarring alopecia, telogen effluvium, or androgenic
  alopecia)
• Do not have active systemic disease that may cause hair loss (e.g., lupus erthyematosus, thyroiditis, systemic sclerosis, lichen planus,
  etc.) or other scalp disease that may impact AA assessment (e.g., scalp psoriasis, dermatitis, etc.).

Study Details:

• Participants will have regular visits with study doctors who are specialized in treating AA
• Blood and/or urine samples will be collected for evaluation at specified time-points
• Participants will receive investigational oral medication (active study drug) or placebo
• Reimbursement for study-related expenses may be provided

How Long Will The Study Last?

• Participants will be asked to visit the study research site about 11 times over a period of 57 weeks
