In 2003 I started my Dermatology practice in Nanaimo. My academic journey began with a BSc (Biology) at University of Waterloo in 1991 followed by a PhD in physiology research at University of British Columbia in 1995.  I completed medical school at McMaster University in 1998 and then a 5-yr residency training program at UBC Dermatology in Vancouver 2003.  I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2023.  

In over 20 yrs of practice, I have found the most satisfying patient work in the realm of inflammatory disorders as skin cancer management.  Research in clinical trials as well as some cosmetic procedures creates extra interesting elements to my patient work.   

Over the last 12 years I have recruited and mentored a dedicated medical dermatology team and we opened our new and modern location in 2020.  Teaching, consultant work and committee work with the Canadian Dermatology Association allows me to maintain close contact with my peers and colleagues while living in one of the most remote and beautiful places in Canada.   

I am a proud member of the executive of the Canadian Dermatology Association and took on the position of President for 2023-2024.
