Dr. Maxwell Sauder is a Toronto-based dermatologist, Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and clinician at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He completed his medical degree at McMaster University, dermatology residency at the University of Ottawa, and fellowship training in cutaneous oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School.

His clinical practice focuses on medical dermatology, inflammatory skin disease, and onco-dermatology, with particular interests in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, vitiligo, and dermatologic toxicities of cancer therapies.

Dr. Sauder has extensive experience as a clinical investigator and has participated in more than 50 industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. His research has focused primarily on advancing therapies for inflammatory skin diseases, including biologics, targeted oral therapies, and novel therapeutic approaches. He has served as a principal investigator on studies involving psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, vitiligo, hidradenitis suppurativa, and other dermatologic conditions.

He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, with work appearing in leading journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and JAMA Dermatology. In 2026, Dr. Sauder co-founded Avenue Research Group, a dedicated clinical research centre focused on bringing innovative therapies and high-quality clinical trials to patients with dermatologic disease.
