Dr. Renita Ahluwalia - Photo

Dr. Renita Ahluwalia is a Canadian board-certified dermatologist with extensive experience in both medical and cosmetic dermatology, as well as clinical research. She co-founded the Canadian Dermatology Centre in 2019, which rapidly grew into one of Canada’s largest dermatology practices. Following the successful transition of the practice to private equity, she joined the Canadian Plastic Surgery Centre in late 2025, where she continues to provide comprehensive, patient-centered dermatologic care focused on long-term skin health and wellness.

Dr. Ahluwalia is also the Founder and Principal Investigator of the Canadian Research Centre, where she leads high-quality, ethical, and patient-focused clinical trials. Her vision is to advance dermatologic care through research, innovation, and collaboration while providing patients access to cutting-edge therapies.

Education and mentorship remain central to Dr. Ahluwalia’s professional mission. She maintains an academic appointment at the University Health Network and serves as a lecturer at the University of Toronto. She has presented at national and international conferences and has received numerous awards, including the Canadian Dermatology Association Young Investigator Honour and the AMNI Insider Doctor’s Choice Award. She also serves on multiple national steering committees and contributes to public health initiatives, including the Canadian Dermatology Association’s Sun Awareness Committee.

Dr. Ahluwalia completed her undergraduate studies in Winnipeg, Manitoba, earning both a BA and BSc in four years. She then completed medical school and dermatology residency at the University of Toronto, graduating in 2013 and serving as Chief Resident in her final year.

With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Ahluwalia is also a recognized healthcare advocate and media expert. She has been featured in national media outlets, including Global News, Entertainment Tonight, The Kit, The Globe and Mail, and The National Post, where she shares her expertise on dermatologic health and innovation. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Ahluwalia enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Quinton Chivers, and their three daughters.
